Have your barbecue inspected every year.

Check hoses and connections for gas leaks with soap and water and to look for bubbling.
Inspect burners and tubes for cracks and blockages.
Check and clean grease pans on a regular basis.
Keep a fire extinguisher handy.
Always start your barbecue with the hood open and in a well-ventilated area.
